I WAS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PROTESTERS BUT I WASN'T ARRESTED!!!

Today began with a downpour of rain! The old saying that the Irvings call in the fog if they wish to pollute the City, came true but this time around it was heavy rain!!!!

Pictures 049

Would this discourage the protesters from showing up? Good question?

Pictures 084

Ever since my arrest yesterday? I had many concern citizens telling me that I shouldn’t be walking alone.

Pictures 097

I told my friends that I am not concerned about this issue. I’ll be ok!

My buddy Tim Smith decided that he would come with me. Tim was very upset of the way I was treated.

Pictures 086

He decided in the pouring rain that he was going to join me this time around.

Pictures 078

We met the young protesters at a certain location and we began our little walk toward the Lord Beaverbrook arena to meet with the Labour Unions.

Pictures 022

Take a close look at these pictures of the way the rink is being populated.

Pictures 027
Pictures 028

I quickly found out that many people confronted me and hug me in the rink.

Pictures 011

They were very concern of the way I was handle by the Saint John Police Force < Irving Gestapo >

This gave me a very good feeling that I had a large crowd of supporters out there.

Pictures 135

I was surprise that so many people knew of the arrest.

I was in the crowd taking pictures of the event but this time around it was different because I had Tim Smith somewhere also in the crowd clicking his camera away.

Pictures 129

I was approached by Brain Maclean for an interview on CFBC!
Pictures 102

I was also interviewed by the French station CBC!

Pictures 002

I might add that I’m going to be a guest on CBC information morning on Monday morning.

I guess the interview will be at 7:15am!

My god? I wonder why the Irvings Newpapers don’t wish to interview moi???..lol...

irving3

I really don’t care but it goes to prove my point of the reason I used this picture? It’s the monopoly of the media. The Irvings do order their editors not to cover certain people.

The protest began after the speeches and the long walk began toward the trade convention Centre.

Pictures 067

It was a good walk and the protesters were very lively. I would say there must have been 500 + people present in the heavy rain.

While the march was going on? The rain was almost nil. The protesters were loud and the citizens beeped their horn in support.

Pictures 041

I can’t believe the support that all protesters are receiving in the City. Many of them are too afraid to come froward and who can blame them?

They have relatives who works for the Irvings Empire and is they speak out? Their relatives would be fired on the spot.

Pictures 037

Once at the Market Square area. I decided that I couldn’t follow the protesters because the cops told that if I did? I would land in jail till July 25th.

I stood at this line and watch the ceremonies. The second the speeches began? The heavy rain came down very hard.

Pictures 124

I shouted - IRVINGS ARE POWERFUL!!!!HE CALLED IN THE RAIN!!!

The protesters stayed put and the protest continued. After the protest was all done? A few reporters from the French CBC station wanted to interview me.

I told them that this will be different because this is the first time that I said the interview en Francais.

One reporter said- Tu peut paerler Francais?

What I meant was that I’m from Memramcook, We speak le chiac.

You know- Uh va allez au store me cherchez un packet de smokes.

I had to remember a few words in that whimpy french from Quebec?..lol....

This morning < Sunday > my arms are very sore and I can’t believe that I’m that sore?

The Saint John Police Force < Irving Gestapo > really handle me rough. I can’t believe the way they treated me?

Pictures 154

One French reporter asked me if I believe it was the Irvings who sent the cops after me?

I told them that I would let New Brunswickers answer that question?

I should have told them that I always respected J.K., Jack, Arthur and Kenneth. If I bumped into them? They would always give me the time of day.

Pictures 028

My battle is with Irving Management who took upon themselves to deny New Brunswickers the right to write letters to the editor against the Irvings.

I’m going to blog a lot of picture during the day so stay tune.

You and your group of protestors are nothing but a bunch of trouble makers.

Whats with the picture of you holding your arms up and out, do you think your God or something now.

You are nothing less than an attention getter.

The pipe line is going through Rockwood Park.

Charles, you don't even live in saint john anymore, so why don't you just stay up in Fredericton and stop stirring things up down here. Then again, the Fredericton Police more than likely are glad to see you leave.

If you have been charged with an obstruction of justice charge, that is no Duck Walk Charge.

You may be blogging from the Black River Road Hilton.

You're a nut Charles, go take some Ritalin and calm down.

The "Irving papers' have covered both sides of the debate....so why not now give them credit for that??? The arrests were covered, the protests were covered, the union and other opposing sides points of view have been covered.....what more do you want?? You accuse, but you don't respond fairly when things turn out differently than you sometimes unfairly predict. I really don't think you know what you want, you are trapped in a cycle of personal fear, discontent, and anger.

It might be very useful if the "protesters and other opponents of Atlantica", listened to the real goals of Atlantica, articulated their response and concerns based on real information; instead of the same tired and over worn fears of progress in the community. You say you all represent the "people".
Who are the people, and what do they want? Lets talk about what people want and work together on common ground. Its not enough be be opposed to everything....what are you in favour of???

That doesn't look like 500 people.

"The pipe line is going through the park" says Chris Norton.

"Wrong!" - says 14000 SJer's!

We'll protest to protect you too Chris but we're going to go ahead and charge you with Obstruction of Democracy just to be on the safe side.

Ummmmm, so 1400(?) people will decide what's best for 70,000 people? That's democracy how??

You self important, egotitical people have to get a grip. What in hell makes you think you speak for me or any other Saint Johner??Protest your asses off if that's what does it for you. But the pipeline WILL go through. Why? Because it is good for Saint John, and therefore good for "most" of the population. Those that don't like it have a simple option. LEAVE.

I would bet anyone on this blog $100 that when the dust settles the pipeline WILL go through Rockwood Park and retain the proposal route as it is now set out to do.
I wouldn't get one taker because the smart ones know this is true and the dumb ones wouldn't have the money to put up anyway.
It's immaterial. It's a done deal.
Charles I don't even know why you're involved in this.
You're in Fredericton now as a resident.

Thanks again for the people who care and Charles happens to be one and the people who don't care for our city or rights why bother reading this blog. We must speak out against injustices and protect our rights. We would have no rights if through the centuries people just sat back like you who put good people down who want all people to have rights not just the wealthy.

People still need to stand up for their rights and if you don't don't complain. The reson we are in this mess is because we allow them to push us around.

Tim Smith is another good man, glad to see he was there taking pictures to. And you do have a lot of people who support you Charles. Job well done. Keep up the good work. Great pictures also.

It would be laughable but one thing is for sure the Irving Rgg does not cover both sides. You have not gone to alot of these events because if you were there you would know the truth is not printed and we have no way of getting our side out there except by people speaking out on the radio and writing on this blog.
